Plymouth Access Scheme: helping learners to access Higher Education

Helping learners to access Higher Education

Through the Plymouth Access Scheme the University seeks to encourage and support learners who have traditionally been underrepresented in Higher Education (HE).  This is part of our widening participation commitment.

Prospective students from these targeted groups may be particularly interested in our activities and resources:

  • Pupils from our target schools

  • Learners with disabilities

  • Care Leavers

  • Adult Learners from low income groups

Information about financial support and bursaries can be found on the Fees and funding section of our website.

Access for schools and colleges

Activities are organised directly with our target schools and colleges.  They include, activities to raise HE awareness and aspirations and  to prepare for entry to HE. They take place on and off campus.

The Student Shadowing Scheme
is organised with our target schools; year 12  learners from these schools can apply directly. The scheme provides an opportunity to shadow a current student for a day.
