Student voice

At Plymouth we value what our students say!

Our students' feedback is vital in channelling new ideas into the experience we offer both now and in the future. Why not hear what our students say?

You share your feedback

" The course I'm doing has a good balance of practical work both in the lab and in the field which is made interesting and encouraging providing good hands on experience. Having staff that are genuinely interested in their work, full of enthusiasm to share their knowledge, makes lectures and seminars powerful and it rubs off on the students. It's been great! "

- Faculty of Science and Technology

We act upon it

You said:  You wanted more preparation for placements
We did:  We held a Preparation for Practice Day for all first year students, also inviting second and third year students to talk to first years

Plymouth Student Opinion Panel

Take part in student feedback surveys with a chance to win a prize!

National student survey

Each year, final year students are invited by email (to their University accounts) to complete the survey online at:

This is a great opportunity for current students to give their honest opinions about their experiences as a student at Plymouth University. The results from this survey are also a helpful tool to support decision making for potential students and we are delighted that the University has a strong record of results in this annual survey.

National Student Survey

Student perception questionnaire

Students complete the Student Perception Questionnaire and the National Student Survey to let us know how they view their experience at Plymouth University.
The University has been running the in-house annual student feedback survey for 15 years during which period many issues have been identified and appropriate action taken.
With a response rate of over 60%, the Student Perception survey is considered to be representative of the views of our students, with over 80% stating that they are satisfied with the quality of their course.
Across all faculties and partner colleges, students were very much in agreement that " Staff are enthusiastic about what they are teaching " and have expressed satisfaction with the support and accessibility of staff.
" How helpful and friendly staff were. I had a lot of health problems and they provided a lot of support so I could finish my degree. They were brilliant; absolutely fantastic. "

- Faculty of Health
