Researcher development programme

​Our Researcher Development Programme, run by the Graduate School, offers a wide and comprehensive range of courses designed to help our postgraduate research students and research staff develop and broaden their research and personal transferable skills.

The  2011/2012 Programme  can be viewed online. Enquiries and bookings can be made using the  booking form on the portal or, emailing  researchskills@plymouth.ac.uk.

The development sessions are available free of charge to all research students and research staff at Plymouth University. We strongly encourage you to take up these opportunities to develop or refine a skill and, network with colleagues. This programme is designed to support your research and, beyond into your careers.

​Our programme is supported by Research Councils UK, Vitae and employers of researchers. It is recommended for all research students and research staff to undertake up to 10 days of transferrable development per academic year. This training can occur through this researcher development programme, Faculty/School/Directorate-specific training, external training, workshops and conferences. The programme includes brand new courses, revised courses and repeats of popular sessions.
We strongly advise you to carefully consider your development needs as researchers. There are many sessions that will assist your current studies and research and, well-equip you for your career planning. Please speak with your supervisors about your professional development planning and, the opportunities offered to you by the Graduate School's 'Researcher Development Programme'.
