We believe in our students taking a proactive approach to job searching and we try to ensure they understand what this means and how they can stand out in the job market.
Ultimately the onus is on the student to find the placement, but students are supported by a dedicated placements team who will assist them to find suitable opportunities, and prepare them for the work experience. Our team work closely with local, national and international employers to stimulate placement opportunities. It is a partnership approach that works and we gain positive feedback from employers.

What our placement students say

"I worked in the sales and marketing department at Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti for 6 months which was an excellent opportunity.
Undertaking a placement gives you great experience for working life, expands your knowledge of the wider world of work, gives you an understanding of what you’re studying for and makes you want to come back and learn more."

Edward Atkinson took his industrial placement with IBM

‘This was a very valuable year for me. I was one of the 60 industrial placement students from different Universities around the country. The IBM facility was extensive, being the largest employer in the area. I worked in a recruitment role where I was responsible, for recruiting the following years 50+ industrial placement students and new graduates. We worked with headhunting firms to appoint the more senior people in to IBM.  The placement gave me a very different perspective on life and a new enthusiasm for learning; it was an integral part of the course’.
