Postgraduate opportunities 

Plymouth University Alumni Discretionary awards 

A 10% alumni discretionary award is available in all faculties for Home and EU graduates. This award is available for:
 
  • Graduates of Plymouth University assessed as Home or EU
  • Enrolled on a full-time, or part-time taught postgraduate programme on which a postgraduate fee is charged and no student loan is available
  • Where the student is self-funded.
  • Where the student is part funded/sponsored the discount will apply to the self-funded element of the tuition fee only.
Please note:
  • The award is not available from postgraduate to postgraduate programmes
  • The following programmes are not covered by this postgraduate discount: PGCE programmes, Master of Architecture and MSc Holistic Science
  • The award of 10% off the fees will be applied against the relevant fee in each year of study
  • Students must have graduated with an honours degree, no award will be made for certificate or diploma graduates

Awards and scholarships for current students 

 

Santander Scholarships

The University has officially launched a number of new scholarships courtesy of its partnership with Santander Group. The scholarships range from £200 to £5,000 and they include funding for research projects in the UK and overseas; language exchange programmes; funding for strategic sectors such as ocean renewable energy projects; and initiatives to promote volunteering and the development of employability skills. Roland Levinsky Memorial Fund awards

The Roland Levinsky Memorial Fund offers current students (undergraduate and postgraduate) the opportunity to enhance their University experience through extra-curricular activities. Awards of up to £1500 enable you to take part in activities which could include anything from participation in a society or field trip, to undertaking a research expedition overseas. Scholarships for international students

The University has a variety of scholarships for postgraduate students from overseas. More information can be found on our page funding for international students.  
 

ESF Postgraduate Scholarship Opportunities in Cornwall

The University is able to offer a number of generous ESF-CUC Scholarships to support students resident in Cornwall to undertake Masters level study and research starting in September 2012.

The awards are part funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) through the Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC) Research Programme and are therefore only open to Home and EU Nationals resident in Cornwall.

The scholarships are for £3,500 and are available for students undertaking ResM projects (which will be advertised at www.plymouth.ac.uk/postgradresearch/pgresearchstudentships as they become available) and the following programmes:

  • MSc Sustainable Construction     
    Three years by blended and distance learning.

  • Environmental & Marine Sciences subjects  
    Available for the following programmes where the research projects are based in Cornwall:
    • MRes Marine Renewable Energy
    • MRes Applied Marine Science

Full-time one year.  Taught and research project based masters.
