Welcome to the Student Funding Unit

We are a friendly team of specially trained staff who can help with most types of student financial enquiries.

Some of the things that we can help with include:

STUDENT FUNDING ISSUES – SFE, NHS
HARDSHIP PROVISIONS – HE Access to Learning Fund, University Retention Fund, Emergency Fund and Short Term Loan Scheme
BURSARIES – NSP & Plymouth University bursaries

We are open from Monday to Thursday 9.00am - 5.00pm and Friday 9.30am - 4.30pm.

NEWS: Student Loan Scanning

Student Loan scanning (to release funding from Student Finance England) will be held in Room 202 of the Rolle Building from 9.30am on Monday 17th September through to 4pm on Friday 5th October. After this, we will be based back in the Student Funding unit, Room 001, Isaac Foot Building.

Please note that during the first week of term there will also be Faculty scanning points available. To find out where this are you will need to speak to your faculty direct.

You will need to have your Financial Assessment from SFE with you for us to be able to scan / enter as necessary.

ALTHOUGH WE DEAL WITH MANY THINGS, PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT DEAL WITH:

Payment of tuition fees (please contact the tuition fees team on treasury@plymouth.ac.uk)
Postgraduate scholarships and studentships (please contact the Graduate School or relevant Faculty Office)
Authorisation of Career Development Loans (please contact the relevant Faculty Office)
Payment of NHS, Social Work or Teacher Training Bursaries - (please contact the relevant Faculty Office)
The Reynolds Scholarship (this is dealt with by the Faculty of Science and Technology)
