In addition to 24/7 access to the Charles Seale-Hayne Library, Plymouth Business School Students also have access to the Business Language & Information Service in the Cookworthy Building.

If you are studying at one of our other centres, information about opening hours at the Knowledge Spa (Truro), Somerset College and UCP Marjon is available on their websites.

Feedback from students is collected from both local and national surveys, and we have representatives at course and school committees, so we hear first-hand what you have to say.  We respond to your comments with actions, not just words.

Some changes implemented recently  as a result of student feedback:

  • The library is now open 24/7 throughout the year, with improved food and drink availability
  • You can now use pcfinder.plymouth.ac.uk from your smartphone or any browser to discover available computers
  • Printing is now available by WiFi across most of the campus.

Access to resources

Wherever you are, you can access many services and resources online:
  • The library catalogue (Voyager)gives access to an extensive collection of e-books
  • Via Metalib (internal access only) thousands of journal articles can be accessed
  • Online module reading lists are also available for many programmes.

Help and Support

The Library Information Desk is staffed 24/7 to assist with general enquiries and referrals.  More in-depth support is provided during core hours by Library, Media and IT specialists.

Subject Librarians work in partnership with Schools and teaching staff to ensure that all students gain skills in information literacy: a key element of employability.

A Special Support Services team within the library provides focused support for students with disabilities, or other special circumstances.

 What our students say

"Library a shiny beacon of excellence ... The late opening is brilliant and the library collection considerably more expansive than my previous uni.  Wish I could keep my card after graduation!" (Plymouth Allied Health Care final year student)

"Thank you.  I am a previous Plymouth University PGCE student, now using the library as a good place to study for an MA.  Staff and environment are excellent."
