Eligibility and important information

Eligibility

You will be eligible to attend your graduation ceremony if you have successfully completed your studies prior to the date of your ceremony. 

 

Information for debtors 

If you are in debt to the University you will not be eligible to attend your graduation ceremony and you will not be allocated any tickets.
 
It is also University policy to withhold certificates, transcripts and any confirmation of award from students in debt until such time as the debt is settled in full.
 
You should go to the Finance Office with your University card to check your account for outstanding debt.
 
You should also check with the library that you do not owe any library fees.

Data Protection Act 1998

The Data Protection Act 1998, means that we are only able to discuss personal and individual student related matters with the student. Registry staff are not at liberty to divulge information or take instruction from a third party, even if that third party is a family member.
 
We will print your name and the title of your degree (we do not refer to degree classifications) in the souvenir programme and on the official graduation T-shirt even if you do not apply to attend the ceremony.
 
You must inform us in writing by the closing date for ceremony booking, if you would like this information withheld from both the programme and T-shirt.
You should also inform us by this date if you wish to make any amendments to your registered name.

Non attenders

If you plan not to attend your graduation ceremony your certificate will be posted to your home address during October 2012.  Please ensure that this information is up to date on the student portal.
