Stage 1
An introduction to the healthcare science profession, combined with a sound grounding in the basic science underpinnings of modern disease diagnostics, evaluation and treatment. You will also undertake a division-specific programme of study and undertake a period of 10 weeks work experience in a healthcare science setting.
Stage 2
You will continue to study the roles and responsibilities of a healthcare science professional and begin to specialise in the techniques and methodologies used by Healthcare Science practitioners in the physiological science disciplines. There will also be a 15-week period of practice placement learning in a healthcare science setting.
Stage 3
Your final year will be spent mostly in the workplace. In addition to a research project focused on your chosen healthcare science discipline, you will apply everything you have learned about science, technologies and techniques to the practice of healthcare science in a clinical setting in the South West of England.
