Stage 1

An introduction to the healthcare science profession, combined with a sound grounding in the basic science underpinnings of modern disease diagnostics, evaluation and treatment. You will also undertake a division-specific programme of study and undertake a period of 10 weeks work experience in a healthcare science setting.

Stage 2

You will continue to study the roles and responsibilities of a healthcare science professional and begin to specialise in the techniques and methodologies used by Healthcare Science practitioners in the physiological science disciplines. There will also be a 15-week period of practice placement learning in a healthcare science setting.

Stage 3

Your final year will be spent mostly in the workplace. In addition to a research project focused on your chosen healthcare science discipline, you will apply everything you have learned about science, technologies and techniques to the practice of healthcare science in a clinical setting in the South West of England.

When you select the name of a module below, a new window containing a short description will appear. You will need to close the new window to continue. The modules shown in this list are those being studied by the current students on this programme. Modules are subject to change depending on year of entry.
