MEng (Hons) Robotics is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET)
to satisfy the educational requirements for Chartered Engineer status.
 

IET Scholarships

All of our electronics and robotics programmes are accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET); any student embarking on our courses are eligible to apply for a number of IET engineering scholarships. Amounts can vary between £1,000 and £3,000 per annum, and closing dates for applications are usually at the end of June. Course highlights

This course was recently accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology and achieved a maximum score of 32/32. Robotics systems are rapidly developing with innovations in both physical dexterity and behavioural intelligence. The impact on industrial and home automation is significant and this course will prepare you for the challenges offered by these exciting and varied technologies.

  • Become involved with our robot football team. We are the UK National Champions and frequently sponsor our students to attend matches all over the world!

Double world champions and double world record holders

The robots at FIRA 2011A team of students and lecturers of Plymouth University competed in the FIRA 2011 Robot Olympics World Championship in Taiwan. Our custom-built humanoid robots have smashed their own world record with a new time of 42 seconds in the sprint. The robots next went on to beat the world champions in the marathon as well.
