MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Law affects almost every area of our day-to-day lives. A Law major will give you a firm grounding in the ways in which the law functions in society. You will develop the analytical and critical skills essential for formulating a legal argument.

LAW WITH CRIMINOLOGY AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE STUDIES WITH PLYMOUTH UNIVERSITY

Our various BSc programmes have been established for over 25 years. They allow you to combine the in-depth study of law with another subject, such as:
  • Business Studies
  • Criminal Justice Studies
  • International Relations
  • Politics
  • Sociology
Each year, two thirds of your studies will be devoted to Law, and the other third will be devoted to your minor subject. One of the unique things about the BSc degrees is that we actively encourage you to explore the interaction between the law and your chosen minor subject through a compulsory module known as Integrated Studies.

WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY

"Law and criminology work really well together and make a great combination which complement each other

The course has been really interesting and as there are constantly new things to learn it has kept me interested for two years, and I am sure it shall continue to do so for many more years."

MOOTING

There is an active mooting culture at Plymouth Law School. This is run by our excellent Student Law and Criminal Justice Society.

There is a very competitive internal competition every year, as well as teams participating in regional, national and international competitions. Law students studying at the University of Plymouth Law School recently triumphed over other law students to win the final of the UK Law Students Association national mooting competition.

Victoria Lush and David Murray (pictured right) took on students from Liverpool University in the mock court case which saw them presenting a legal issue involving the law of contract before a judge.
