Agriculture and Environment

The interaction between agriculture and the environment is increasingly important in government policy and commercial practice. The modules offered on this course develop up-to-date knowledge and understanding of sustainable land use, crop production and protection, environmental plant physiology and animal health and ethics.
 

Applied Biosciences with Plymouth University

The applications of biological sciences have profound implications for human health and welfare and have major impacts on the economy and the environment. This suite of one-year specialist courses is designed as a progression route for students with an appropriate foundation degree, or who have completed two years' study in biological sciences and wish to develop more applied interests in their final year.

Career opportunities

The biological sciences course will allow you to progress to a wide variety of careers in areas such as: public services, teaching, fisheries, horticulture, environmental health, conservation, finance and the media. There are also opportunities to progress to postgraduate study (MSc/PhD) in various topics. Opportunities specific to the Agriculture and Environment course include: agronomist, agrochemical consultant, animal health technician and conservation advisor.
