Robotics students at Plymouth enjoy a range of first-class facilities. This does include well-resourced laboratories for studying control engineering, computer vision, robot kinematics and industrial robotics. Customised design laboratory kits ensure that state of art resources is available, together with the local design knowledge. This will encourage you to design your own products as well as learn industry-standard practices and tools.
These facilities include 3D rapid prototyping systems, in-house PCB design and assembly tools for surface mount electronic circuits. High speed FPGA design and camera image processing technology support interactive high speed processing for robotics. Industrial programmable robotic arms and our own cup-winning Plymouth Humanoid robots add to the mix.
Our resources are available on sign-in and use basis. The University library houses nearly half a million books, journals and other resources and has a 24/7 open access computing area, media workshop and study rooms.
