Professional links

The University is consistently ranked as one with the highest number of students achieving student membership of the industry’s professional institutions. The student learning experience is enhanced by including lectures presented by industry speakers and students also undertake projects that simulate real life practice, which are jointly assessed by a team of industry professionals and academic staff. We have been scrutinised by a panel of industrial advisers which help to ensure that our graduates are equipped with the skills needed by industry. Academic staff are not just lecturers; most are also research-active and maintain close links with industry through consultancy, knowledge exchange and training.

Plymouth and the South West - a superb natural environment

The surf beaches of Devon and north Cornwall are within easy traveling distance and rivers and estuaries of all types are plentiful within the region. Plymouth also has excellent diving opportunities.
There is no better location than Plymouth to engage in the once-in-a-life-time experience of studying for a degree, especially if you are interested in a marine career. The shores and clear coastal waters of Devon and Cornwall provide an unrivalled resource for Marine Sports. The natural marine amphitheatre formed by Plymouth offers a varied showcase of marine recreation on a daily basis and is only a short walk from the university, as is the university's own marine sports centre.
