Stage 1
Key subjects include: engineering mathematics, graphical representation and IT, integrated systems design, professional studies, properties of engineering materials, structural analysis and surveying
Stage 2
Key subjects include: construction management, construction mathematics, geotechnics, introduction to coastal engineering, structural analysis and design and water management
Stage 3 (student placements)
Students may optionally spend one year in paid, professional employment between years two and three.
Many of our graduates say the work placement year, offered on most of our courses, was invaluable in helping them launch their careers.
As well as giving students invaluable 'real world' experience a year in industry can often lead to job offers from the placement company. Some placement companies have even chosen to sponsor students for their final year.
Stage 4
Key subjects include: advanced engineering analysis, civil and structural engineering design project, construction management and environment, geotechnical engineering, hydraulic engineering, international business, marketing for engineers.
Stage 5
Key subjects include: advanced geotechnical engineering, advanced hydraulics, advanced information technology, advanced structural engineering, individual project, interdisciplinary design project, project management.
