Course Summary

Our accredited courses include topical subjects such as sustainable development, renewable energy and flood alleviation. Final-year options are structural engineering or coastal engineering.

Coastal engineering covers storms, climate change and coastal defence. The coastal engineering modules give this course a distinctive identity which makes it attractive to many students Some also take the unique, optional modules in diving and underwater technology. This can lead to a professional diving qualification and skills in underwater inspection, photography, construction, and boat handling (limited places and additional costs involved).

Parts of the HSE course are taken in Year 1 and during vacations (note that completion of the HSE course is subject to medical and aptitude conditions with limited places; additional costs must be met by the student).
