​Stage 1
- Builds on mathematical skills and topics learnt at school
- Includes a module that gives an introduction to logic, ideas of proof and the mathematics which underpins internet security
- The other five core modules include calculus, matrices, numerical methods, an introduction to computer software for mathematics and statistics, and probability and statistical inference
Stage 2
- You study six core modules which include mathematical methods, vector calculus, real and complex analysis, differential equations, mathematical statistics and investigations in mathematics and statistics
Work placement year (optional)
- An optional placement provides valuable paid professional experience and helps make your CV stand out
Final stage
- The project modules offer a chance to pursue interests in depth. Alternatively, you may opt to study a school based module
- You have a choice of modules which cover a varied range of pure and applied mathematics and statistics topics and at the end of this year you will be well equipped to embark on a range of careers or, if you wish, to extend your mathematical knowledge further
