The University Counselling Service has well-developed links with a number of agencies in the city. These include GPs (especially those in the University Health Centre) and people working in the secondary Mental Health Services team, the Zone (Youth Enquiry Service) and specialist services such as Relate, Eating Disorder Support or the Harbour Centre for problems with drugs and alcohol.

 

When you come for your initial appointment the counsellor may suggest that your needs will be better met by another service in the city or recommend that we work in liaison with, say, your GP. Any referral or contact with such services is only made with your specific consent and agreement as to what will be disclosed (see Confidentiality and Data Protection for more information).
