When you submit an application you are not guaranteed an offer of university-allocated accommodation. The options on the screen are available for you to indicate a
preference only. By completing your preferences here, you are not booking a particular type of room. At least 40% of all our new incoming students live in private sector housing, which they choose from our Approved Accommodation Database.
By submitting an email address on your application for accommodation you are confirming that this is the primary method of contact for all our communications with you about your application. It is your responsibility to register an email account that you will have access to over the summer and to check this email regularly. If you have given an email and contact details for a Third Party this is your confirmation that you are happy for us to discuss your application with that other person at any time in the process.
If we make you an offer of Allocated accommodation this will be
notified to you only by the registered email. If you receive an offer, you will have
five calendar days to accept or reject the accommodation online. The Student Accommodation Office does not take any responsibility for the offer email being rejected by your registered email inbox. Please check your email settings to ensure it will receive emails from
accommodation@plymouth.ac.uk and also from
hallsadmin@plymouth.ac.uk. Applicants are also advised to check the status of their application for accommodation on the
Accommodation Application Service as this will also notify the applicant of any changes in Application Status, i.e. whether an offer is made (‘Allocate’) or the application has been processed for Approved accommodation (‘Approved list’).
Applicants who receive an offer of Allocated accommodation are required to make an immediate payment by credit or debit card to secure their reservation of the room and also to set up a regular card payment for rental fees. More details of this can be found in the
Terms and Conditions for Allocated accommodation.
